Last October, we participated in an architectural competition for a small hotel in Dominical, Costa Rica.
We didn’t win, but the project became a great opportunity to explore the relationship between architecture and landscape.
The concept was to create a building that continues the red soil hill - almost becoming part of the terrain. During the process, it transformed into something more intriguing: an object that contrasts with nature and invites people to discover what is inside.
The experience inside was the main focus. The spaces constantly change- from narrow, compressed corridors to open rooms where the surrounding landscape becomes the main element.
Rammed earth, Corten steel, and timber helped connect the building with the identity of the place.

Wooden Tent
This architectural composition, inspired by the Kazakh yurt, harmoniously blends with the natural surroundings, creating a cozy and aesthetically pleasing space for rest and relaxation.
Ethos of Simplicity

Our primary mission is to preserve the island's tranquility while reviving its rich history. We propose refurbishing the ruins of the cloister and constructing a tower to welcome sailors from the Lido lagoon and Venice. The cloister will serve as an exhibition space, and the tower will act as a beacon, allowing visitors to observe the island's breathtaking scenery.
